blue-lined philinopsis

Philinopsis cyanea, blue-lined philinopsis

The blue-lined philinopsis, Philinopsis cyanea, is not a true nudibranch, but it is closely related to them. Colours are variable from plain black to black with blue and yellow markings. Juveniles are often more colourful than adults.
Philinopsis cyanea has no radula teeth. Its prey includes bubble shells, which it swallows whole. After digestion the unbroken shells are regurgitated.
