Diploprion bifasciatum Kuhl & van Hasslet

Pictured left is an adult Yellow Emperor,
Diploprion bifasciatum. Below is a small juvenile with slightly different colouring. They feed mainly on other fishes. This species is also known as a Barred Soapfish. It secretes a toxin from its skin when stressed.
