Canthigaster valentini Bleeker 1853r
saddled puffer
The saddled puffer,
Canthigaster valentini, is poisonous.
It has a long snout and black saddles. Males have blue lines radiating
from the eyes. The Mimic Filefish
Paraluteres
prionurus is very similar in appearance but has longer
dorsal and anal fins.
Distribution = widespread tropical Indo-Pacific
Max size = 10cms
