The Spotfin Burrfish, Chilomycterus reticulatus, is grey above and white below, with dark spots on the fins and body. There is dark bar below each eye and at the back of the head. There are short, immovable spines on the head and body.

The Spotfin Burrfish eats hard shelled invertebrates.

Distribution =  patchy worldwide tropical and subtropical, NW of WA and northern Qld to northern NSW.
