Scorpaena cardinalis
red rockcod,
eastern red scorpion cod


The Red Rockcod, Scorpaena cardinalis, can be coloured
from brown to bright red. It is very well camouflaged against rocky reef where it lies
in wait for its prey (small fishes and invertebrates which it swallows
whole).
