Prionurus maculatus, spotted sawtail

Pictured left is the adult spotted sawtail, Prionurus maculatus. It is grey to almost black with yellow spots on the upper side and dorsal fin. Fin margins are blue. There are three black keel plates on either side each with a pale blue keel.

The picture below shows a juvenile, with yellow stripes on its sides and a white band around the base of the tail.
