The Juvenile Orange-blotch Surgeon, Acanthurus olivaceus, is yellow. Adults are in the colour range yellowish to black, but the back part of the body is always sharply darker than the front. The bright orange blotch behind the eye is very distinctive. There is a typical surgeonfish spine near base of tail.
