The Painted Anglerfish, Antennarius pictus, comes in various colours from red through yellow or orange to brown or black. Could easily mistaken for a sponge.

Its pectoral fins look like hands (see below).

The family of anglerfish are so called because of modified dorsal spines which act as a lure for prey.
