The Giant Moray, Gymnothorax javanicus, is the largest of the Indo-Pacific Morays, reaching 2.5m in length and considerable circumference. Its head is covered with small dark spots as shown in the photo. Further down the body the dark markings are larger. The gill opening is surrounded by a large dark spot.
