Plagusia chabrus
red bait crab
The Red Bait Crab, Plagusia chabrus, is very common intertidally, and is also found subtidally. The "hairs" on its legs are part of its sensory mechanisms.
These crabs feed on attached animals such as sponges, bryozoans and hydroids. |
