Pseudoserpula rugosa Staughan 1967

rugose tubeworm

Pseudoserpula rugosa, rugose tubeworm

These tubeworms, Pseudoserpula rugosa, are similar to feather duster worms, in that they have two tentacular fans extending from the tube. They differ in that their tubes are made of calcium carbonate and they have an operculum, a parasol like structure which closes the tube when the tentacles are withdrawn.
