In late August and early September 2011 two Australian fur seal pups were seen at Julian Rocks. At about the same time there were also sightings at Brunswick Heads. It is unusual to see these animals so far north.

Distribution =   SA to NSW, mainly around Bass Strait
Typical size =   adult males are over 2m long and weigh over 300kg
